Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Quality & Risk to lead the Quality Management Department. This role focuses on risk management, regulatory compliance, and quality improvement in an acute care setting. The Director will oversee policy formulation, accreditation readiness, and patient safety initiatives while ensuring the organization meets clinical, legal, and ethical objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement departmental goals and standards aligned with organizational objectives.
- Direct and evaluate departmental operations, including patient care delivery, technology use, and complaint resolution.
- Plan and oversee staffing activities, including hiring, training, evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
- Manage and analyze risk data to identify gaps, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
- Coordinate and ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including CMS and TJC requirements.
- Facilitate risk reduction activities, develop safety initiatives, and foster a culture of safety.
- Provide leadership and education on risk management and patient safety topics.
- Oversee accreditation improvement initiatives and regulatory readiness.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address process improvement and enhance patient outcomes.
- Escalate significant risk issues and provide timely notifications on claims or lawsuits.
- Conduct trend analyses and create statistical reports for review by committees.
- Facilitate the organization's regulatory committee and ensure ongoing readiness for surveys.
Must Haves:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required; Master’s Degree in Nursing, Business, or Healthcare-related field preferred.
- Licensure: Current KY or multi-state RN license.
- Certifications: Certification in Risk Management (required); CPHQ certification (required within one year).
- Experience:
- Five (5) years of healthcare experience as an RN.
- Two (2) years of experience in quality or clinical nursing leadership.
- Experience in healthcare risk management, accreditation, and critical care settings.

Location : Mayfield, Kentucky
Salary: $98,000 - $113,000
- Signing Bonus: Negotiable.
