Location: MCAS Cherry Point Memorial Chapel, Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, NC 28533

Duties:

• Provide piano support every Sunday and on Holy Days of Obligation at Roman Catholic Mass, including accompaniment and musical direction.
• Offer musical support for special Catholic observances such as Holy Days, Christmas, Lent, and Easter services, including associated rehearsals.
• Support mid-week Roman Catholic choir rehearsals for a minimum of 60 minutes per week.
• Collaborate with the Roman Catholic Chaplain or Priest weekly to plan liturgical music requirements for services.
• Assist the Roman Catholic Director of Religious Education with musical support for the Faith Formation program as needed.
• Provide piano support for memorial services and rehearsals as directed by the Command Chaplain.
• Ensure advance notice and provide a qualified musical substitute when unable to attend a service.

Requirements:

• Extensive knowledge of Catholic music and religious service organization.
• Minimum of two years' experience as a pianist.
• Effective piano playing ability.
• Ability to play a wide variety of music from traditional church hymns to contemporary church music.
• Proficiency in reading music from the Armed Forces Hymnal and Catholic Liturgical resources, demonstrated through supporting documentation and in-person audition.
