Summary:

The Workforce Group (WFG) is seeking an experienced General Contractor to support FEMA-related appraisal, substantial damage assessments and construction oversight. This role involves developing and reviewing cost estimates for labor and materials, overseeing construction activities, and ensuring that repairs and rebuilds adhere to FEMA guidelines and industry standards. This position is crucial for accurately assessing project costs, managing resources, and ensuring quality construction in disaster-affected areas.

Location: Indian Shores, FL (Pinellas County)

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, and overall project budgets to support FEMA appraisal and construction planning.
• Monitor and inspect ongoing construction and repair activities to ensure compliance with FEMA guidelines, local building codes, and safety regulations.
• Evaluate project requirements for materials, labor, and other resources, ensuring cost-effective and efficient allocation.
• Work closely with damage assessment professionals, appraisers, and FEMA representatives to align construction activities with FEMA standards and project goals.
• Supervise contractors and project teams to verify that all work meets required standards of quality, is completed on schedule, and adheres to approved estimates.
• Maintain detailed records of project progress, adjustments, and inspections for reporting and compliance purposes.
• Provide updates to property owners, contractors, and FEMA representatives on project status, cost estimates, and any changes to the project plan.
• Regularly review and apply the latest FEMA construction requirements, building codes, and safety standards.
• Perform other job related duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Licensed General Contractor with extensive experience in construction oversight and cost estimation, preferably with FEMA or disaster-related projects. Proven expertise in developing accurate cost estimates, assessing material and labor needs, and managing construction budgets.

• Strong knowledge of FEMA construction guidelines, local building codes, and industry standards for disaster recovery.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively coordinate with contractors, appraisers, property owners, and FEMA representatives.
• Proficiency in construction estimation software, project management tools, and Microsoft Office for reporting and documentation.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills to manage complex construction assessments and ensure accurate estimates.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for conducting field inspections and site visits.
