Description We are searching for an experienced Scenic Dining Yacht Captain to operate our new 80' Destination Yacht "Lady Bird II" on Lake LBJ operating from The Marina at Horseshoe Bay Resort in Horseshoe Bay, Texas. We offer year-round cruises including Daily Scenic Cruises, Sunday Brunch Cruises, Sunset Dinner Cruises, Christmas Holiday Cruises, and Corporate and Wedding Cruises.
*Dining Yacht Captain is a tipped position in addition to the hourly pay rate. Full time or part time positions available.

Required Certifications: - Minimum age requirement - 21+ due to driving licensed Resort vehicle
- Valid driver's license and ability to meet the requirements of driver insurability as established by the insurance carrier required.
- 2 years Captain experience on a vessel over 70 ft and or greater than 25 tons. Prior experience operating a 70 ft and larger passenger boat preferred.
- Must be an experienced passenger boat operator with ability to maneuver vessel in tight areas.
- Must hold current State license plus a Boaters Safety Certification. Coast Guard licensed for Inland Waters preferred.
- Ability to operate vessel in accordance with all Texas Parks & Wildlife passenger vessel regulations.
- Vessel Maintenance experience preferred, Customer Service skills, attention to detail, being able to think & work safely, and being able to respond in critical situations are a must.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and all major holidays in season.
- Must pass random drug tests and background check for pre-employment.
Definition: Qualified applicants must be experienced scenic tour boat captains holding credentials required to operate on inland waters and have a minimum of 2+ years successful experience operating a 70' + dining & scenic tour passenger boat. This Captain will be responsible for creating a memorable Guest Experience on the lake for our Members & Guests and it imperative that the Captain possess the necessary skills to operate the vessel and safely professionally. Captains are also the on-board supervisor responsible for assuring all crew are providing exceptional customer experiences while maintaining a clean and safe vessel. Must be a people person, friendly and professional. The Captain is one of the first people our customers see upon boarding!
General Duties: - Greet and assist members and guests with a professional, flexible, and accommodating attitude.
- Directly supervise the Mate, Deckhand, and Food and Beverage Personnel in all areas of the Marine Transportation safety, security, and training.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Dining Yacht.
- Maintain professional composure in high stress environment.
- Demonstrate safe and effective Vessel operation and crew management skills.
- Demonstrate sound judgement on Yacht operations, weather conditions, and with an awareness of the overall guest environment.
- Routinely conduct Emergency drills in accordance with US Coast Guard and State of Texas regulations.
- Routinely conduct and participate in safety meetings and setting expectations to ensure an efficient and safe operation of the vessel, including proper use of equipment during any possible onboard emergency.
- Maintain vessel operations and maintenance logs, personnel reports, and other Ship business records.
- Ensure vessels are in safe operating condition and verify all safety equipment is in the proper location and functioning appropriately.
- Notify Director of Marina of any repairs needed and coordinate repairs, as well as make sure to document.
