Position Overview: Shalom House Inc. is seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Residential Support Workers. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in providing direct support and assistance to individuals living with mental health diagnoses within our residential facilities. You will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our clients by fostering a supportive and nurturing environment that promotes recovery, independence, and overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct support and assistance to residents with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, medication management, and household chores.
  • Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment that promotes independence, self-esteem, and community integration.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including case managers, therapists, and healthcare professionals, to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Engage residents in therapeutic activities, recreational outings, and social events to promote socialization and personal growth.
  • Monitor and document resident progress, behaviors, and incidents in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support as needed, ensuring the safety and well-being of residents at all times.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all interactions with residents, families, and colleagues.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or related field preferred.
  • One year of previous experience working with individuals living with mental health diagnoses preferred.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
