We are currently seeking a highly motivated, experienced Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team in the construction industry. This is a permanent position in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, where you will be responsible for managing a variety of financial tasks to ensure the company's profitability and growth. You will be working with a team of dedicated professionals who are committed to excellence and success.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Accountant, you will:
1. Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
2. Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions; resolving discrepancies.
3. Maintain general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts; preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries.
4. Summarize financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss, and other statements.
5. Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
6. Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
7. Guide other staff by coordinating activities and answering questions.
8. Comply with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
9. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for the Senior Accountant position will have:
1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry.
3. Proficiency in preparing journal entries and managing ledgers.
4. A strong understanding of accounting theory and financial principles.
5. Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Office Suite.
6. Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
9. CPA certification is preferred but not required.
