Job Description

Mother Mary Lange Catholic School is currently looking for qualified candidates to join their team of substitute teachers. As a substitute teacher, you will be responsible for directly supervising and instructing students in the event of a teacher or instructional assistant absence. The long-term Elementary Substitute Teacher would be responsible for the direct supervision and instruction of students within the school during the teacher's absence. They will follow the curriculum as provided by the principal or the absent teacher, assign homework and oversee attendance.

Essential Functions

• Participate in the active supervision of students at all times
• Oversee the instruction of students following the plans provided by the regular teacher
• Follow daily routine of teacher or IA and fill in for duties outside the classroom such as morning drop-off or pickup as needed
• Work collaboratively with other teachers, assistants, staff and administration
• Interact effectively and respond to communication in a professional, empathetic and timely manner

Position Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma, bachelor's degree preferred
• Knowledge of child development and supervision preferred.
• Previous experience working with children.
